OC's New DEI Initiative, Imago Dei Invites Jen Fry to Speak

Coming to enrich faculty and staff at the annual Launch event, and other engagements on campus, OC's Imago Dei welcomes Jen Fry.

JenFryTalks is a social justice education firm that uses conversation to educate and empower those within athletics through an anti-racist lens on issues of race, inclusion, intersectionality, diversity and equity.

Co-Chair of the newly established DEI committee Gary Jones has brought voices of the civil rights movement to campus through History Speaks. Now Jones leads the effort to invite the most prominent leaders in diversity, equity and inclusion to educate faculty and staff.

"Jen Fry is the real deal," said Jones. "She is an educator who has spoken at universities across the nation. Our committee is happy to have her participate in ongoing training and to speak to student groups while she is here."

Fry is the first of many planned training opportunities for OC employees and students led by the DEI committee named Imago Dei.

Diversity, equity and inclusion at Oklahoma Christian University is rooted in the fact that each of us is created in the image of God. The acronym, DEI, is reflected in the Latin word for God. Imago Dei, or image of God defines the purpose of DEI on the OC campus. As an image bearer of Christ we have place, purpose and voice. We are continuously being transformed more and more into his likeness. We are all called to be Imago Dei.
