Sid Brown M.A., J.D.

Professor for Criminal Justice

Dr. Sid Brown, J.D., was one of the founders of the OC Criminal Justice program after a deep professional history in the occupation.

Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in History Education with a minor in Accounting as well as a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Central State University. He then earned his Juris Doctor at Oklahoma City Education. He is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, Oklahoma Supreme Court, Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals and the United States District Court - Western & Northern Districts.

He's been a lifelong educator as well as criminal justice expert. Dr. Brown is extremely proud of his former students who have entered all facets of the criminal justice system as police officers, corrections, lawyers, judges, Currently, several students anticipate entering law school. The criminal justice field offers great career jobs and pay in many different aspects of the criminal justice system. Recently, one of the criminal justice graduates was the only applicant to advance in a pool of applicants for a single police officer position as he was the only one who passed all written exams and was name Rookie of the Year.

Brown's experience includes being the Assistant Attorney General: Criminal Prosecution Division & Special Projects, Associate District Judge: President Judge of the Juvenile Court for Oklahoma County, Social Worker for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, and Professor for Business Law (Oklahoma Community College), Juvenile Law & Procedure and Domestic Relations (Oklahoma City University School of Law), Sociology & Criminal Justice (University of Central Oklahoma). Recently, he finished up 28 years of private practice of law with Green, Brown & Bennett.
