Paul House Ph.D.

Professor of Exercise Science

Dr. House began his teaching career at Deer Creek Elementary School where he taught physical education from August of 1998 until May 2006. In August of 2006 he began teaching at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in the kinesiology and health studies department. Dr. House taught a total of 11 years at UCO from August 2006 until July of 2017. His teaching responsibilities were primarily for exercise science and physical education majors including:

  • Undergraduate: Applied Anatomy, Mechanical Principles and Analysis of Human Movement, and a variety of Technique of Teaching Sports activities labs
  • Graduate: Biomechanical Analysis of Human Movement, and Physiological Basis of Human Performance

Dr. House’s research has included: predicting success in collegiate wrestlers, force of impact of an unweighted limb, affects for resistance training at various velocities, beetroot juice supplementation during resistance training, and resistance training in the elderly.

Dr. House has been a member of the Poplar and Warner Church of Christ in Guthrie Oklahoma for the past 18 years. He has taught many classes and served for a time as a deacon. He is married to Aimee House, whom he met at OC. They have two children, Cole and Savannah. Dr. House believes that there are evidences for the existence of God around us. He believes that one of the strongest ways to convince someone of the existence of God is by how he/she treats others on a daily basis. Therefore, daily exemplifying the joys of a life lived for Christ Jesus is of most importance.
