Lindsey Long Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Biology / Honors Director

Dr. Lindsey Long earned her PhD in Biochemistry from Colorado State University where she studied the regulation of histone ubiquitination. As a post-doctoral fellow in the Academic Science Education and Research Training (ASERT) program at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Long worked on the characterization of quiescent cell responses to DNA damage. Long is a member of the Genomics Education partnership which provides opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in genomics research.

Dr. Long has enjoyed several mentorship opportunities in the lab, the classroom, and the community. She is an active mentor of the National Research Mentoring Network and participates in the Expanding Your Horizons organization which provides young girls with female role models who have successful STEM careers. Her hobbies include running, playing volleyball, camping with her family, and playing cards.
