Amanda Nichols Ph.D.

Professor of Chemistry

Dr. Amanda J. Nichols is an OC alum and inorganic chemist. When she’s not teaching chemistry, general science courses, or co-teaching an honors class on science and Christianity, she’s thinking about aesthetics in science, how science works, and science and faith. Her research interests are focused upon philosophy of science and the development of undergraduate experiments centered on materials chemistry. She was one of 25 professors selected for the Bridging the Two Cultures of Science and the Humanities grant in 2015-2016 where she spent time in Oxford, UK for two months studying science and religion. She enjoys running, art museums, and traveling.
