Be Cyber Smart
Each October, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NSCA) host Cybersecurity Awareness Month to educate consumers on the importance of cybersecurity for all industries, organizations and personal use.
Oklahoma Christian University has collaborated with CISA and NSCA to share this year’s theme: Do Your Part. Be Cyber Smart. This year’s campaign emphasizes the role individuals play in online safety and stress the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at home and in the workplace.
Check out the different themes that occur each week this October to emphasize the education of cybersecurity:
1. Be Cyber Smart.
2. Fight the Phish.
3. Explore. Experience. Share.
4. Cybersecurity First.
Stay tuned to OC’s Cyber Education Center (oc.edu/cyber-center) and our social media channels to see what new information each week has to offer on staying cyber smart during this month’s campaign.
I ask that you share this message with employees and students to help spread the word about Cybersecurity Awareness Month and how to stay safe online at work, home and beyond. Help us secure Oklahoma by staying safe online and being cyber smart.
Own your role in cybersecurity by starting with the basics. Creating strong passwords and using multi-factor authentication, backing up your data, and updating your software are great places to start.
This is a great way to Do Your Part #BeCyberSmart
