Choirs

Chorale

The Oklahoma Christian University Chorale is the largest choral ensemble and is comprised of eighty undergraduate students. Approximately half of the singers in the ensemble are music majors. Since Dr. Harold Fletcher founded the choral program in 1950, the choirs have continued to develop a tradition of excellence in choral artistry. Recent performances of major works include Paul Mealor’s Stabat Mater and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem. Annual tours have been taken by the Chorale to Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago and New York City.

Chamber Singers

The OC Chamber Singers is the premiere, university, choral ensemble comprised of 50 members who also sing in the Chorale. Under the direction of Dr. Kyle Pullen, the Chamber Singers have been featured as an honor choir at the 2014, 2017 and 2020 Oklahoma Music Educators Association conventions. The Chamber Singers regularly perform the latest and most challenging pieces of the choral repertoire along with the music of the period. In 2018, the Chorale produced a CD entitled, "Lift Mine Eyes," which features a cappella works of William Henry Harris, Eric Whitacre, Alice Parker and Jake Runestad.
