OC Places 8th in National Directors' Cup
Oklahoma Christian placed eighth in the final 2011-12 NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Standings, the third straight top- 10 finish for the university.
The Directors’ Cup measures the overall strength of an institution’s athletic program. OC was eighth in 2009-10 and 10th in 2010-11.
“We are proud of our eighth-place finish,” OC athletic director Curtis Janz (86) said. “Our three consecutive top-10 finishes are testament to the hard work, commitment and vision of our student-athletes, coaches and administration.”
OC won national championships in men’s cross country and men’s tennis, and placed second in men’s golf, tied for third in women’s tennis, placed sixth in women’s golf, and finished 10th in men’s outdoor track and field.
Men’s basketball, men’s indoor track and field, and women’s outdoor track and field also recorded points for the university.
