OC lands 56 on D2 Academic Achievemtn list

Fifty-six OC student-athletes were honored on the NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award list in the fall.

OC had more student-athletes on the list than any other Heartland Conference school, accounting for 30 percent of the league’s 184 honorees. OC also had more honorees on the list than any other Division II university in Oklahoma.

Among OC’s teams, baseball had the most honorees, with 10. Percentage-wise, women’s cross country led the way, with 50 percent of its 10-person roster earning the award.

At the conference level, OC placed 146 student-athletes on the Heartland’s Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester.

This came on the heels of OC’s female student-athletes tallying the best grade-point average among Heartland Conference schools for the second time in three years.

Three OC teams also won Heartland academic titles – softball (3.45), women’s cross country (3.65), and men’s cross country (3.52).
