Dear Alumni and Friends,
My words are inadequate to describe how grateful I am for your encouragement over the past few months. Your prayers, notes, emails, phone calls, handshakes and hugs have blessed our family as I have transitioned into the presidency. I am excited and humbled about what God is doing at OC, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Our alumni ranks are growing and growing – we’ve had the seven largest enrollments in school history the past seven years, including an all-time record of 2,271 students this year. We are glad these students are calling OC home. We are glad you call OC home.
We hope you take every opportunity to visit campus. If you haven’t been back in awhile, you may be surprised by how much the campus has grown.
Your support has helped us build new facilities to serve our students and community. And we are blessed to have people like Doug Bryant, Cary Falling, Jerrod Dean, Macie Jackson and others on our maintenance, custodial and grounds staffs who are dedicated to making OC a beautiful, functional place that feels like home.
If you run into them when you’re back for Homecoming on November 2-3, tell them “thank you.” And say thanks to Bob Lashley and the alumni relations team. They’re putting together another great weekend for you after last year’s musical, alumni banquet and other events drew rave reviews.
I look forward to thanking you in person for all you’ve done for your alma mater. And I hope you’ll do more. I hope you pray for us. I hope you encourage us. I hope you come home often, and bring your young people here to experience what’s happening at OC.
We want you to expect great things from Oklahoma Christian University. We want you to hold us to the highest standards as we provide a first-rate Christian education in a place that makes people feel like family.
In His Service, John deSteiguer President
