Former OC Golfer Shoots Record 55
Former Oklahoma Christian golfer Rhein Gibson (08) set a provisional world-record score by shooting a 55 at River Oaks Golf Club in Edmond in May.
Gibson, a native of Australia, had 12 birdies and two eagles during his 16-under par round on the par-71 course.
His record round attracted worldwide attention from media outlets like ESPN, CBS, Fox, USA Today and the Golf Channel. Gibson was a four-time NAIA All- American at Oklahoma Christian, placing as high as fourth in the nation individually. He won the Oklahoma Open in 2010.
