Findley named on 2017 WBCA Victory Club list

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association recognized OC women’s basketball coach Stephanie Findley (82) as a Victory Club honoree.

Findley recorded career win No. 600 on February 16 when the Lady Eagles rolled past Rogers State 70-45. Findley, who just completed her 32nd season as OC’s coach, became only the 65th women’s basketball coach in college hoops history to record 600 career wins.

Already Oklahoma’s career leader in coaching wins, she ranks 35th nationally among active coaches. Her 600th win came in Findley’s 1,000th game coaching at her alma mater.

“That’s a lot of games – a lot of wins and a lot of losses,” Findley said. “But when you get to stick around this long, they tend to add up a little bit. I’m grateful to have the opportunity and I’m excited. It’s kind of neat that 600 fell on 1,000.”

Findley was inducted into OC’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
