Alumnus creates art through design and music

Matt Stansberry, a 2004 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, is a true Renaissance man. He uses his talents in multiple local endeavors: his graphic design company, Nominee Design Studio, and his band, Matt Stansberry and the Romance.

Nominee, established in 2010, was originally formed as free-lance business, focusing on branding and music. It is now involved in print, audio and digital branding for both small businesses and larger corporations. Matt Stansberry and the Romance was formed in 2011. This 10-piece band has an old-school style and released their second album, “Crash Landing.” OC professors Heath Jones and John Fletcher are also members in the band.

“If you really love something, put all your energies in there while you can; while you’re young and don’t worry about a backup plan,” Stansberry said. “Don’t allow yourself to have a back up plan. … If you really believe that you have a talent and a gift and something to offer, I would encourage anybody to just go for it. What do you really have to lose?”
