I’m not ashamed to own my Lord,
Nor to defend His cause;
Maintain the honors of His word,
The glory of His cross.
Jesus, my God! I know His name,
His name is all my trust;
Nor will He put my soul to shame,
Nor let my hope be lost.
Firm as His throne His promise stands,
And He can well secure
What I’ve committed to His hands,
Till the decisive hour.
Then will He own my worthless name
Before His Father’s face,
And in the new Jerusalem
Appoint for me a place.

I am not never ashamed of my Lord. I do read my Bible in the public even while riding a train, other passengers usually look at me with surprise, some look at me with indignant especially the non-christians. Yes Brother Bob it is a good thing to stand up for Jesus whereever we go. Thanks. Kufre Edet.

This song is even more poignant to me when I look around and see that most of the world is ashamed of their Lord. Do they really expect to receive God’s blessings when they are ashamed of Him in public? Do you have access to “Stand up, Stand Up for Jesus?” Thank you! Bob Diamond R.Ph

For those who did not catch this familiar tune, it is also used with O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing.
