Museum of the Bible & Oklahoma Christian University Join Forces with Sofer Collection

Originally gathered by Benjamin Sofer in the late 20th century, The Sofer Collection is a compilation of Jewish writings and culture, including Talmudic materials and Jewish art and historical pieces. The Museum of the Bible bought the set from Avi Sofer, Benjamin's wife.

The exclusive collection now permanently resides in the Beam Library at Oklahoma Christian University.

With the Sofer Collection available at OC, students will have access to an entire database of unique literature and art. Scholars from outside the university will be allowed to browse the collection as well, using it for their own studies, ultimately creating a valuable relationships for OC.

OC and MOTB have a rich history of collaboration. MOTB has displayed several collections on OC's campus for students and the community to enjoy. With locations in both Washington D.C. and Oklahoma City, many OC alumni have gone on to work at the MOTB. The relationship furthers Museum of the Bible's mission to "invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible."
