OKLAHOMA CITY — Dallas Jenkins, creator, co-writer, executive producer, and director of the hit series The Chosen, will speak at Oklahoma Christian University (OC) on Monday, Oct. 6, 2025 as part of the McBride Lecture for Faith and Literature.

The lecture will take place at 7 p.m. in Baugh Auditorium inside of the campus’s Garvey Center. Tickets are available to the public now.

Jenkins is also the founding member of 5&2 Studios, the production company behind The Chosen and other Bible-based projects. A gifted storyteller, Jenkins' drama The Chosen burst onto the television scene with its authentic depiction of the life of Jesus of Nazareth, becoming the most successful crowdfunded series in entertainment history with over $11 million raised from more than 16,000 supporters. The Chosen centers on the women and men who walked with Jesus, allowing audiences to see the story of the Gospels unfold through authentic relationships and experiences.

Jenkins’ lecture at Oklahoma Christian will be his first public lecture in Oklahoma.

"Oklahoma Christian is reaching and discipling young minds for Jesus, which is exactly what I'm dedicated to,” said Jenkins. “I can't wait to be there in person to talk about the role Jesus is actively playing right now all over the world."

“We are honored to welcome Dallas Jenkins to Oklahoma Christian,” said Dr. Ken Jones, President of Oklahoma Christian University. “Bringing transformative speakers like Dallas to campus allows us to open doors for students and the broader community to experience stories that point us closer to Christ, challenge us to live with purpose and inspire us to use our gifts for His glory.”

The day's program will also include sessions with OC students as well as an open meet-and-greet for Oklahoma filmmakers and a symposium session for discussion, questions and answers.

The McBride Lecture for Faith and Literature brings nationally recognized humanities scholars to OC to foster valuable, out-of-the-ordinary educational experiences for students, faculty, and the community. Jenkins’ lecture continues the tradition of inviting thought leaders and storytellers whose work sparks meaningful dialogue about faith, creativity and culture.
