OC was named the fourth best online college in the state by a top-ten list from University HQ.

OC was the only private institution in Oklahoma City to receive the distinction. It also had the second-highest average graduate salary among the other listed schools. The list was one of many created this year by University HQ, an independent educational organization.

“OC strives to make quality higher education accessible to all Oklahomans, and our online programs are a particular area we take pride in,” said Brandon Tatum, Executive Vice President of Oklahoma Christian University.

OC’s online offering includes a variety of innovative programs, including a work-based degree program for nursing students. Students are able to take nursing courses while working as a nursing assistant — earning a degree and a paycheck all at once. Each student works under the supervision of a registered nurse, providing built-in mentorship opportunities.

There are also several OC teaching degree tracks that meet aspiring teachers where they are. Education students are given options to choose depending on their outside commitments. Alternative certification routes allow students with non-teaching degrees to still teach in Oklahoma. For those seeking full education degrees, traditional in-person classes are available — but if leaving work isn’t an option, online classes are offered to accommodate to work schedules.

Master’s students are also offered flexible track programs at OC to earn an MBA, MSE, MSCS, MFT, MAC&C and more. Evening and online classes are offered to prevent students from needing to quit their jobs. There are also six start times each year that allow students to begin coursework at the best time for them.
