ARLINGTON, Texas (April 2, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian closed its spring golf season with a fourth-place finish on Tuesday in the Southwest Classic at Tierra Verde Golf Club.

OC sophomore Anna Arrese Cortadellas lost a playoff for medalist honors to Mercedes Rios of Dallas Baptist (Texas) after the two shared the lead after 36 holes.

The nine teams in the tournament played half of the final round on Monday and finished up with nine holes on Tuesday morning in an effort to complete the event before forecast rain storms hit north Texas in earnest.

The Lady Eagles, who trailed Dallas Baptist by just two shots entering the final round, closed with a 308 and dropped two spots, finishing at 610. DBU won the tournament with a 599 team score, followed by Midwestern State (Texas) at 606 and Northwood (Texas) at 608.

Arrese Cortadellas fired her second straight even-par 72 on the 5,997-yard course to lead the Lady Eagles. It was her fourth straight top-three finish this spring. She has finished in the top 10 in all 16 tournaments in her college career.
