Oklahoma Christian University to Host 2026 Associates Gala on March 26

Associates Gala 2025

Oklahoma Christian University (OC) will host its annual Associates Gala on Thursday, March 26, at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. A longstanding OC tradition, the Associates Gala honors the faithful partnership of its Associates, whose support advances the university’s mission of academic excellence and Christ-centered education.

This year’s program will feature a dynamic stage conversation with three globally recognized leaders who exemplify faith-driven influence across athletics, business and ministry: John Rinehart, Mart Green and Todd Peterson.

Rinehart will host the conversation with Green and Peterson, the visionary leaders of illumiNations, an alliance of Bible translation partners and resource partners working together to eradicate Bible poverty by 2033.

Rinehart is the author of Gospel Patrons, a book that launched a global movement inspiring business and professional leaders to embrace their calling as patrons of the Gospel. Since the book’s release in 2013, the message has grown into an international ministry equipping thousands around the world.

Green is the Ministry Investment Officer for Hobby Lobby and founder of Mardel Christian & Education, a Christian retail chain headquartered in Oklahoma City with stores nationwide.

Peterson, a retired 13-year NFL placekicker, was named the NFL True Value Man of the Year for his character and service while playing for the Seattle Seahawks. Peterson currently serves on the boards of several private companies.

Together, the three leaders will engage in a conversation about stewardship, advancing God’s Kingdom through influence and generosity and God’s unwavering heart for nations across the world.

The evening will also include presentation of the Lee Allan Smith Spirit of Oklahoma Award to alumnus Brendan King (’20) and his girls basketball team at The Academy of Classical Christian Studies. King’s team earned national attention not only for their performance on the court but also for their integrity and sportsmanship.

“Each year, the Associates Gala reminds us what is possible when faithful leaders steward their influence for God’s purpose,” said OC President Dr. Ken Jones. “As a Kingdom University, Oklahoma Christian is committed to forming graduates who lead with conviction and pursue lives that are made for more. We are honored to welcome these distinguished guests and grateful for our Associates whose partnership transforms lives.”

The Associates Gala is an invitation-only event for OC Associates, whose generosity helps provide students with a Christ-centered, first-class education. Alumni, friends and community partners who are not yet Associates are invited to consider joining this network or exploring sponsorship opportunities.
