How Much Does an Appointment Cost?

The Family Therapy Clinic is self-pay, and fees are based on income. Most fees are comparable to insurance copays. We do not bill health insurance. We can accept payments with HSA (health savings account).

If financial need creates a barrier for treatment, fees can be discussed with the therapist and accommodations can be made.

Although our providers are trained at a Christian university, the topics of faith, God and the Bible are only present in treatment if it is within your values and beliefs. You are more than welcomed in our clinic no matter what your personal beliefs are.

We explicitly believe that therapists should never interject their personal beliefs onto a client. We also support that a Christian therapist can effectively serve clients who hold differing personal or religious beliefs.

All of our providers are master’s level therapists in training. All services at the clinic are actively supervised by a licensed clinical supervisor. All sessions are recorded and may be observed by staff at the Family Therapy Clinic. Recording and observing aid in the supervision and training of our providers. Your confidentiality is maintained by the providers and supervisors at the Family Therapy Clinic.

Yes, research has supported that master’s level therapists in training can be as effective as therapists who have had many years of experience (i.e. Wittman, Weiss & Metzmacher, 2012; Witteman & Van den Bercken, 2007). Our providers have regular supervision from highly trained and experienced clinical supervisors to ensure high quality services.

If a client or family is navigating issues related to sexuality or gender identity, our role as providers is to help the client explore, process, and apply how their personal beliefs and values relate to sexual and gender identity.

Our providers do not seek to change sexuality or gender orientation but help individuals and families find a way to understand themselves that aligns with their identity and religious beliefs as applicable.
