Jeremie Beller Ph.D.

Jeremie Beller began serving as the Chair of Bible and Director of Church Relations for Oklahoma Christian University in the fall of 2022. Prior to joining OC full-time he worked in full-time ministry for 25 years serving in multiple areas including youth, young adult, radio, college, pulpit, and congregational ministry. He began ministry serving four years as the Pulpit Minister for the Church of Christ in Chandler, OK before serving the Wilshire Church of Christ for 20 years as the Congregational Minister where he continues serving part-time.

Jeremie grew up in McLoud, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma Christian University where he received a Bachelor degree in Bible with a minor in Greek, as well as a Master of Arts and Master of Divinity degrees in Ministry. In 2014 Jeremie completed a PhD in Communication and Social Influence from the University of Oklahoma with a research emphasis in homiletics, religion and racism, civil religious discourse, and Terror Management Theory. His dissertation was titled Terror Management Theory, Religious Orientation and Dissasociation: Addressing the Paradox of Religion and Racism.

While working in ministry and pursing academic degrees, Jeremie was also active in the classroom teaching 8th grade and 9th grade Bible classes for Oklahoma Christian Academy. He also served as an adjunct of Bible and Communications for Oklahoma Christian University teaching general education and upper division courses in the areas of Bible and communication.

Jeremie is a frequent speaker at local congregations having spoken at over 70 churches across 7 states, as well as Oklahoma Christian, Abilene Christian, and Harding Universities. He serves on the organizing committee for Affirming the Faith and is a board member for Move Youth Conference, and Quartz Mountain Christian Camp.

Since 2021 Jeremie has served as the Opinion’s Editor for the Christian Chronicle overseeing and often writing monthly editorials. He is a contributor to the book Why We Stayed: Honesty and Hope in the Church of Christ. He has presented academic papers for the Annual Christian Scholars Conference and the National Communication Association.

Jeremie met his wife, Delaina, while they were both students at Oklahoma Christian University and married in 1999. Delaina is a teacher for Oklahoma Christian Academy and also serves as one of the Children’s Education directors for the Wilshire Church of Christ. Jeremie and Delaina have two children: a son named Keaton and a daughter named Kayden, both of whom attend Oklahoma Christian Academy.
