Dawn Hemphill M.S.N.

Nursing Adjunct

Dawn has been a registered nurse since 1983, earning her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She loved her years at Oklahoma Christian working on her nursing prerequisite courses from 1979-1981. She has had a variety of nursing roles through the years including School Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Long Term Care and 20 years as a charge nurse at a small rural hospital in Beaver, OK. She received her masters of Science degree in Nursing from Regis University in 2008. Dawn has spent the past 12 years teaching in nursing programs in the Oklahoma panhandle and Southwest Kansas. She has also done some adjunct clinical instruction for UCO since moving to Edmond. She is a member of the Oklahoma Nurses Association, ANA and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. She served at the State Capitol as Nurse of the Day in 2010. She is married to Bradly, also an OC alum, and has two grown sons and a daughter-in-law who also live in Edmond. She attends Memorial Road church of Christ where she is active in the Upward Bound Bible Class and is involved in the International Ministry, Women's Ministry, Mentoring Program and volunteering at Capitol Hill church of Christ. Working at OC is a dream come true for Dawn! She loves giving back to Nursing by training future nurses and working for the academic institution that has blessed her life so immensely!
