Position: Oklahoma Christian University invites applications for a potential (pending funding determination) faculty position to teach Physics within the Division of Natural Science within the College of Natural & Health Sciences. The successful candidate will collaborate with all science and engineering faculty members in performing duties essential to the achievement of established university goals.
Primary Qualifications:
Master’s degree required; PhD in physics or astronomy is preferred, but ABD candidate will be considered
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to communicate and positively engage students and colleagues across racial, gender and cultural barriers
Successful candidate shall be actively engage in a life of Christian faith and service and an active member of a local church
Primary Responsibilities:
Teach introductory physics courses and general education science courses, including laboratory sections, in both algebra-based and calculus-based classes
Manage laboratory experiments and equipment in the area of physics
Design, implement, assess, and continually improve the curriculum
Serve as an academic advisor to science students needing assistance or information
Work on assigned committees
Confidentially and efficiently maintain CNHS documents
Further the mission of the College of Natural & Health Sciences by developing community among the students, faculty, staff, and industry constituents
