Tornado:
- Stay alert and informed during a tornado watch. If available, use your i-device and watch for 'OC Notify' notifications.
- Take shelter during a tornado warning (news advisories or sirens).
- Seek the lowest level (second floor, move to the nearest lower level apartment that is available).
- Move to the most central room of the apartment (no windows, probably one of the bathrooms).
- During a warning, take one of two positions - the preferred position is kneeling with your head
between your knees facing the wall; the other is seated on the floor with your back to the wall.
In either position, you should be as low as possible to reduce the potential for injury from glass or
flying debris. - Take cover under a mattress or other padded covering.
- Do not open exterior doors.
