Alumni Update & Speaking Event - Ron Deal

The 2021 Oklahoma Christian University Behavioral and Social Sciences “Outstanding Alumni” awardee, Ron Deal, will be providing a special guest lecture this Friday, November 5th, at 1:40 PM. Deal is a bestselling author, podcaster and popular conference speaker. He is one of the most widely read and referenced authors on blended families in the U.S.

Held in the DAH Cail Auditorium, Deal will be lecturing over his research and insights related to step families. Dr. Bobby Kern’s “Divorce and Step Families” class will be in attendance, but the event is open to the public; all are welcome! Deal graduated in 1988 with bachelor’s degrees in both Family Life/Family Services and Biblical Studies and in 1993 earned a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. Ron is President of Smart Stepfamilies™ and Director of FamilyLife Blended®, a division of FamilyLife®. Ron is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor.

Ron has developed multiple video and group resources and is the author of nine books, including Building Love Together in Blended Families with Dr. Gary Chapman and The Smart Stepfamily. Ron’s audio teaching, through the podcast FamilyLife Blended and his one-minute radio feature, is heard each month by over 1 million listeners.
