Sponsor a Memorial Bench
Building community starts with a place, a place to ponder a professor's remark, think on theology, or share french fries with a friend. Building community is the inspiration behind the Memorial Bench Program at Oklahoma Christian University. Creating a more user-friendly, comfortable environment enables people to slow down between classes, appointments, and chapel. The proper time and space will foster the kind of valuable relationships that are found in community.
The goal is to place practical, yet handsome, park benches around the campus in places that complement the campus landscaping and pedestrian traffic.
Through the generosity of alumni, friends, and trustees, the first benches have already been placed on campus. In fact, the OC Board of Development sponsored nearly two dozen benches which grace Lawson Commons and honor OC's Faculty Emeriti. What a great way to memorialize those who have loved and served OC than to add beauty and practicality to our campus.
These six-foot benches exhibit classic proportions. The heavy teakwood from which they are fashioned is exceptionally durable and weather resistant. Furthermore, each bench will be fully endowed, having a home on campus for as long as the Lord chooses to bless OC with students. Through an attached bronze plaque, these elegant benches offer the opportunity to permanently memorialize or honor a loved one... or to simply reflect your love for OC.
Endowing a bench requires a tax deductible contribution of only $1,500. Contact Maria Clark at 405.425.5108 or email@example.com to find out more details on placing a memorial bench on the campus of Oklahoma Christian.
Sponsor an Apartment or Dorm Room
You have a unique opportunity to enhance the OC experience of our students while making a gift that is recognized permanently. By choosing to sponsor an apartment or a residence hall room, your name or a name of your choosing will be affixed permanently outside the room. Your gift will be an endowment for the room, meaning your gift will be invested. Down through the years, the interest from your gift will ensure that the room is maintained for each new generation of students. It is all about good stewardship.
Sponsorships are offered at the following rates, which can be fulfilled through various pledge options up to five years:
- New four-person apartment: $18,000
- New two-person apartment: $12,000
- Refurbished apartment: $6,000
- New residence hall room: $6,000
- Refurbished residence hall room: $3,000
Please note that while you may choose a specific room to dedicate (perhaps one of your old rooms), these naming opportunities are offered on a first-come, first- served basis. To arrange the details of your room dedication, contact Maria Clark at 405.425.5108 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have questions or if you need more information about any of these programs, please contact the Advancement Office at 405.425.5094.
