Established in 1924, the international English honors society, confers distinction for high achievement in English, language, literature and writing.
Sigma Tau Delta
OC attends the annual Sigma Tau Delta international convention. It’s a gathering of undergraduate English scholars presenting research and creative writing to peer panels. OC students make presentations and rub elbows with renowned authors and notable scholars at lectures and Q&A sessions. Some works are even honored to be selected to be published in annual the Sigma Tau Delta Review.
At OC, the Sigma Tau Delta Rho Mu chapter pursues scholarly work and has a good time. Some club favorites are the back-to-school pizza party, literary themed Halloween gatherings and the Christmas book exchange.

Soundings, a Literary Journal
Original poetry, prose, photography and visual art from all corners of campus fill the pages of Soundings, a literary and visual arts journal celebrating creative excellence. Students volunteer their gifts and abilities to edit, design and publish the annual journal. The committee leads fundraising events, encourages submissions and promotes the publication.

Eagle Spotlight
I’m so grateful to the faculty for insisting on intellectual rigor, caring for our well-being and displaying a desire to help us students succeed. The environment was conducive to both scholarship and community. Sigma Tau Delta conferences and capstone projects really prepared me for presenting in academic contexts.
