Tinker-Friendly Tuition & Scholarships
Civilian employees at Tinker AFB who do not receive full tuition assistance may qualify for the OC Tinker Scholarship, which covers up to 25% of remaining tuition costs not already paid by military education benefits. Eligible programs include the Master of Science in Systems Engineering (MSSE), Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM). All programs are built for working professionals, and scholarship recipients must maintain a grade of A or B in each course.

Academic Transcripts - A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for all graduate-level students.
MSSE applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
GRE scores may be waived if the applicant meets either:
GPA of 3.0 or higher,
OR 5 or more years of documented engineering experience
MSCS applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science. If not, the following MSCS leveling courses may be required:

GRE scores may be waived if the applicant meets either:
GPA of 3.0 or higher,
OR 5 or more years of documented computer science experience
MBA applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. A business degree is preferred but not required. Applicants without an undergraduate business degree may be required to complete a leveling course prior to beginning graduate-level business classes. If foundational coursework in accounting, marketing, economics, and management has already been completed, students may be admitted directly into core courses.
Applicants with a GPA below 3.25 (or below 3.0 with five years of professional experience) must submit GMAT or GRE scores. A minimum score of 450 on the GMAT or 285 on the GRE (with a 3.0 writing score) is required.
Applicants with a GPA below 2.5 may still qualify if their last 60 hours reflect a GPA of 2.75 or higher and they meet the minimum test score requirements.
The GMAT/GRE may be waived with one of the following:
A 3.0 GPA and five years of business experience.
A 3.25 GPA with no professional experience.
Completion of nine graduate credit hours with a grade of B or better in each course.

It can be waived if a student is a Tinker Employee. It is also waived based on academic performance or professional experience:
For MSSE and MSCS applicants:
An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher,
OR five or more years of documented work experience in a related field.
For MBA and MSPM applicants:
An undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or higher,
OR a 3.0 GPA WITH at least five years of verifiable work experience,
OR completion of at least nine graduate credit hours with a grade of B or better from a regionally accredited university.

Yes. For civilian employees at Tinker Air Force Base, if you're not already receiving 100% tuition assistance, you may qualify for the Tinker Preferred Scholarship, covering up to 25% of tuition not paid by military education benefits. This scholarship is applied after each graduate course upon submission of grades and requires maintaining a grade of A or B.

MSCS courses are offered in person one night a week for working professionals, though some leveling courses may be required and are offered during the day or online. All other master’s programs are delivered 100% online in an asynchronous format.

MSCS courses are offered on campus in the evening. Prerequisite courses are offered online. MSSE, MBA and MSPM classes are all fully online.

Most students take five semesters to complete their degree by taking two classes per semester. However, it’s possible to complete the program in as little as three semesters.

OC allows students up to seven years to complete a graduate degree. However, if you’re receiving tuition assistance or scholarship funding through Tinker, you may be required to complete your degree within a shorter timeframe, often within one year. We recommend confirming the specific requirements of your funding program to ensure compliance with all timelines.
