Oklahoma Christian’s mobile computing program provides several unique technological options that enhance the university’s mobile learning goals and allow us to better meet the educational needs of the students.
Flexibility
We support both Apple’s Mac OS X and Microsoft’s Windows operating systems. The operating system you should choose depends on your own comfort level--we recommend using the operating system you have the most experience with. Contact us if you have need more information.
Laptops are Required
Laptops are required for classes. Notebooks, iPads, or other similar devices won't allow users to install the software needed to complete necessary assignments and tests. Chromebooks are an acceptable and affordable option but may not have all the capabilities of a laptop. Check out a full list of requirements here. Functionality
OC’s mobile computing program provides students with free access to many software titles, including Microsoft Office. Additional titles are available at a significantly reduced cost. OC manages more than 75 software titles for student access from vendors like Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, Autodesk, IBM, and many more. By being an OC student with an OC account, you already have a Google account.
Printing
We have more than 100 laser printers located throughout the campus, including all academic buildings and housing areas. Color laser printing and copy systems are also available in the Beam Library. You can read about how to print on OC’s campus here.
Support
The Office of Information Technology’s Support Central team provides support services for the mobile computing program. On-site certified hardware repair is available for some models. Our technology staff is also familiar with the software used on campus, and can assist students with software-installation questions and other common software problems. We offer short-term loaners during repairs.
