Student Success

Serving as a compass to navigate towards graduation, Oklahoma's Christian's Student Success Center partners with academic programs to promote personal and academic responsibility as students transition through their university experience. Find us on the second floor of the Mabee Learning Center and let us help you achieve your goals!

Undergraduate Tutoring

Since New College is an online program, it makes sense that you have access to FREE virtual tutoring services! We have highly qualified tutors with flexible scheduling. Just choose a subject and look at your options on the Virtual Tutoring for New College website. You can also find the link to available tutors through your Blackboard course.

Additionally, you can connect with an on-campus tutor to elevate your academic game. We offer individual and group tutoring in all lower level courses and the majority of upper level courses. We can also connect you to other resources on campus, like the Writing Center.

Mentoring

The New College team wants to support the needs of the whole student, not just your academic needs. For this reason, you will be assigned a mentor. The mentor will be in contact with you weekly and will check on you and your progress throughout the semester. If you have any questions or concerns, your mentor will be a great first connection.

Academic Coaching

Adjusting to college is something each student must do, but it’s different for everyone. If you have tried the different tools provided, but you have fallen behind, academic coaches are here to help you with things like improving your note taking or reading comprehension, coping with test anxiety, discovering your learning style or improving your listening. If you would like to schedule an appointment, email Virginia Smith at virginia.smith@oc.edu

Study Skills

Proven study skills, tactics and methods can up your academic game. We’re here to help you improve your memory, tighten up your time management, set and achieve goals and implement strategies for reading textbooks. Try out our study location for a comfy spot with snacks.
