Sophomores* (2015-2016) choose two from:

1) Fantasy Literature: The Soul of Harry Potter. Chris Rosser. In this session, students will consider some of the classical, medieval, and literary roots of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Engaging chapters from each of the seven books, we will face grindy lows, encounter boggarts, confound the Dark Lord, and learn about friendship as we contemplate what fiction can offer faith.  
2) Introduction to Engineering -Taught by OC's faculty in ABET-accredited Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Engineering. 
3)Math/CS 1: Introduction to Computer Science (Can computers think like a person?) Concepts related to automatic processing of information.  The course will examine problems that may or may not be solvable using computer technology.  Students will learn some of the basic concepts related to the design and programming of a digital computer.
4) Intro to Bible - Worldview: The Story You Live In - Ben Langford. Helps students understand how they view the world according to the stories they live by everyday and will lead them deeper into God’s narrative for the world.

Juniors* (2015-2016) choose two from:

2) Introduction to EngineeringTaught by OC's Faculty in ABET-accredited Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Engineering.
3) Introduction to Cell Biology - Dr. Eric Phelps. Features lab culturing of HeLa Cells.
4)Genesis 1-11- The Story Behind the Story - Dr. Lynn McMillon. The Bible makes more sense when one understands some fundamentals: where did we come from, where did everything else come from including sin? Genesis 1-11 answers those and many other important questions.  It also serves as an introduction to the whole Bible story.

Seniors* (2015-2016) will choose from:
1) Introduction to Musical Understanding and Creativity -Dr. John Fletcher. A primer of musical understanding and a launching point for each student's musical creativity for music readers and non-readers.
2) Introduction to Engineering Taught by OC's Faculty in ABET-accredited Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Engineering.
3) Introduction to Health Care Professions- Marissa Diller. Help students with a basic understanding of how the healthcare system works and identify a healthcare discipline of interest and understand its role as a future career.
4) Introduction to Scriptures of the Holocaust - Dr. Charles Rix. People of faith reacted in many ways to the Nazi attempt to destroy Jewish and other minority populations in their territories.  Some turned away from God, but many turned toward God during this horrible time.  Investigate some of the scriptures which came to be viewed in new ways and with new significance because of these sufferings.

These for-credit courses are organized with inspiring co-curriculum so that experiential learning links with excellent, Christian faculty to provide an outstanding introduction to undergraduate excellence!
