High School Concurrent Enrollment

15-week classes are held on our campus in Edmond, OK.

Concurrent enrollment is open to high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors that are ready for college level classes. We want every student to be successful here at OC so we may need additional documents to support this for our younger students. Transcripts are needed when applying. ACT, SAT, or CLT scores are optional but highly recommended. Some courses may require a minimum qualifying score.

We offer special sections only open to concurrent students with some of our university’s favorite professors. Please contact our Concurrent office to see what is being offered this semester.

Once accepted, you can search for classes on our courses catalog. Concurrent sections are -400, ex: ENGL 1113-417.

If you would like to meet with the Concurrent Advisor, please schedule a meeting.

Complete the Concurrent Enrollment Approval Form with the courses you want to take and have it signed by your High School Administrator/Counselor. Submit it to the Concurrent Advisor - concurrent@oc.edu.

Once enrolled, you will be sent an email to set up your MyOC (my.oc.edu) account. There you will be able to view your classes, make payments on your student account, check your OC email and interact with our campus network in various other ways. If you have issues with logging into your account, or need to reset your password, please contact SupportCentral@oc.edu.

Online courses are either 7 or 15 weeks long. Students may complete the weekly assignments on their own schedules. There are not any required live meetings.

Students have access to support through optional office hours, free online tutoring, or contacting the instructor directly.

Online courses may be taken through TEL® Education as an independent student or through a TEL partner high school.

Courses are delivered online through the TEL® Education learning platform by instructors credentialed and approved by Oklahoma Christian University. OC serves as the institution of record, meaning OC awards the academic credit and is responsible for curriculum, faculty, and student learning outcomes.

Students do not need to apply to OC to take courses through TEL® Education.

If you attend a TEL partner school, contact your school counselor.

If you are an independent student, you may purchase courses directly through the TEL® Education website.

How much will my concurrent class cost?

The concurrent course fee is $245 per class.

How do I pay for my class?

You or your parents can pay your bill online with a credit card or directly from your bank account. Please note there is a convenience fee of 2.75% for credit card payments. To avoid this fee, you can pay directly from your bank account; after you click “Make a Payment,” you can select “Add new bank account.” You can also pay in person at Support Central or the Business Office.

If you want to grant third party access to parents for them to pay your concurrent fee online, these instructions will show you how to grant access through myOC.

When is my course fee due?

Accounts are due the first day of class. After 30 days, there will be a finance charge added to your account.

How do I get my books from the bookstore?

You can visit the bookstore in the Gaylord University Center anytime Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm or online at oc.slingshotedu.com. You may also contact the bookstore via email (bookstore@oc.edu) or phone (405-425-5260).

Does my class require books?

Your professor has notified the OC bookstore about any required materials. They will be automatically held for you at the bookstore unless you update your preferences in Textbook Butler. Find instructions for updating your preferences here.

MyOC (https://my.oc.edu) is the secure online student portal you'll use for many important things throughout your college career, such as making payments on your student account, searching the course schedule, and interacting with our campus network in various other ways. You access this portal at my.oc.edu; you’ll use the same OC username and password you selected when you created your student account.

You’ll need to check your OC student email regularly because all University communication will be sent to your OC student email address. You won’t want to miss any important information from the Registrar, Financial Services, or a professor. Simply go to gmail.com. Your email address is the username you created followed by @eagles.oc.edu, and you’ll use the same password you created during your account set up.

Do I have to use my OC student email address?

If you prefer to receive communication at a different email address, you can forward your OC student email to an account you check regularly.

How do I drop a class?

You can view the current academic calendar on our registrar’s webpage. There may be implications for academic eligibility with your high school. Please see your principal for questions regarding eligibility.

If you are coming to campus for class, make sure you register your vehicle and get a parking permit. You can find parking instructions on our website.

You are eligible to receive a student ID card from Oklahoma Christian University. You can have one made in person at Support Central on OC’s campus. If you’d like to upload a photo and have your ID card mailed, you may contact support@oc.edu for instructions.
