At Oklahoma Christian University we recognize the rigorous standards of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) and, therefore, are pleased to award advanced standing in the Master of Education degree to National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs).
Graduate students seeking a master’s degree in the area of education who have obtained the professional credential of National Board Certification can be awarded credit for the three following courses (nine credit hours) in their degree program after completing twelve credit hours (four courses) toward their degree:
- EDUC 5043 Foundations of Learning Recovery
- EDUC 5053 Foundations of Student-Centered Learning
- EDUC 5073 Foundations of Classroom Culture
By offering Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) for National Board Certification, OC recognizes this credential’s rigorous, performance-based assessment process that demonstrates a teacher’s advanced expertise and commitment to professional growth.
