Degree PlanWhy Earn a Master’s in Engineering?
Level Up
An MSE significantly enhances your technical skills positioning you for higher-level opportunities in a competitive job market. This program equips you to transition from team member to team leader, becoming a Systems Engineer who designs, develops and manages complex systems that bridge multiple disciplines.
Higher Earning Potential
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, engineers with a bachelor’s degree earn a median annual salary of $100,000. Master-level systems engineers in 2025 are reporting a median salary of $183,000 per year.*
Competitive Advantage in the Job Market
Earning a master's degree can distinguish candidates in the engineering field, as many employers prefer or require advanced degrees for higher-level positions.*
Job Market Growth
The future is bright for engineers. While BLS’s current projection for engineering as a whole is at 5% growth, with an estimated new job growth of 8,000 jobs, this does not reflect Systems Engineers, as these experts are trained to connect multiple disciplines and are often listed within their specific employment role and are not separated into their actual work.*
*These statistics highlight the potential benefits of earning an MSE; however, actual outcomes can vary based on factors such as industry, geographic location, prior experience and individual performance.
