A letter from the president
The World Awaits Your Story
The University’s new tagline is anchored in narrative, in story. And if you know me, you know I love a great story. I love to hear them. I love to tell them. And I’m thrilled the University’s new brand provides an improved way to do just that-to tell the stories of our many incredible individuals.
Our faculty, students, and alumni consistently produce the kind of excellent academic outcomes that make much bigger institutions envious. I can’t wait to tell those stories with the enhancements of Oklahoma Christian University’s new look and messaging.
You see, behind great University stories are the details, principles, and people that make brands come alive.
The world is indeed waiting for the powerful, mission driven narrative of OC’s Christ followers. Join me in shouting those stories from the rooftops!
May God bless you and yours,
John deSteiguer, President
Q&A with President John deSteiguer
Oklahoma Christian University president John deSteiguer talked to History Speaks 2018 speaker, Wheeler Parker Jr. about the summer of 1955, traveling to Mississippi with his 14 year old cousin Emmett Till, and the events of that week that changed his life forever.
Award-winning, faith-led game designer Amy Green shared her story of tragedy and recovery with us. She told President deSteiguer how her game, "That Dragon, Cancer," started as a bedtime story for her kids, an attempt to explain their brother's battle with cancer.
Her steadfast faith and honesty in struggle inspire many. Watch her interview with OC President John deSteiguer to learn more.
President Emeritus Mike O’Neal
During his tenure as president from 2002 to 2012, Dr. Mike O'Neal implemented his vision for Oklahoma Christian University to be academically excellent and spiritually vibrant and to continue to prepare young people for effective service to God and to their fellow man.
A Vibrant History
Past University Presidents
In the past 60 years, Oklahoma Christian has transformed from a two-year college with 207 students in Bartlesville, Okla., to a comprehensive, four-year, accredited university with more than 2,000 students and four graduate programs in Oklahoma City. We have many presidents to thank for the growth of Oklahoma Christian University.
The university is dedicated to the highest standards of integrity and the President and the Board of Trustees have demonstrated their sincerity by establishing the office of Ethics Ombudsperson. It is important that every person, whether internal or external to the university, knows that every effort is being made to address any concerns that involve a real or perceived breech of ethical behavior.
The Ethics Ombudsperson receives, investigates and resolves questions and allegations of potential lapses in institutional ethics and integrity. Integrity is frequently questioned when perceptions are based on incomplete or inaccurate information. A perception of ethical lapse, whether true or not, can do significant damage to the reputation of the University and/or an Employee.
