Discipleship

discipleship

And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4:19-20 ESV)

If we look at the relationship Jesus had with his disciples, we see that discipleship took place in community. Too often, we separate our pursuit of faith from our involvement in people’s lives. While our faith is very personal, it was never intended to be private.

The greater mission of community was commissioned in Matthew 28, when Jesus commanded his followers to go make disciples of all nations. This commission stills stands today.

Our vision for discipleship involves our Spiritual Life staff training and developing students to be leaders in the Ethos program. Leaders and emerging leaders will meet with Spiritual Life mentors for further training, support and accountability. These students will then be equipped to lead small groups, mission trips, and service projects on their own.
