OC-Awarded Academic Merit Scholarships for Incoming Freshman

Highly acclaimed academic merit award named in honor of our university’s founders.

- Amount: $12,000 per academic year
- Minimum Requirements: GPA 3.0 and ACT of 32
- Continuing Eligibility: maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.8
- Apply: automatic, based on a weighted index of your ACT, SAT, or CLT scores and unweighted high school GPA in your OC application

OC's merit award for students who have demonstrated extraordinary academic achievement. Named in honor of the university’s presidents.

- Amount: $10,000 per academic year
- Minimum Requirements: GPA 4.0 (test score optional) or GPA 2.0 and ACT 32 or GPA of 3.0 and ACT 28
- Continuing Eligibility: maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.8
- Apply: automatic, based on a weighted index of your ACT, SAT, or CLT scores and unweighted high school GPA in your OC application

OC's merit award for students with outstanding academic profiles. Named for our college deans.

- Amount: $8,000 per academic year
- Minimum Requirements: GPA 3.75 (test score optional) or GPA 3.0 and ACT 23 or GPA 2.0 and ACT 27
- Continuing Eligibility: maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.6
- Apply: automatic, based on a weighted index of your ACT, SAT, or CLT scores and unweighted high school GPA in your OC application

OC's merit award for students with the potential to excel in their chosen field of study. Named for Eagles past and present who contributed to OC's legacy of academic excellence.

- Amount: $6,000 per academic year
- Minimum Requirements: GPA 3.0 (test score optional) GPA 2.0 and ACT of 21
- Continuing Eligibility: maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.4
- Apply: automatic, based on a weighted index of your ACT, SAT, or CLT scores and unweighted high school GPA in your OC application

OC's merit award for students with impressive academic profiles. Named for our University colors.

- Amount: $4,000 per academic year
- Minimum Requirements: GPA 2.0 or ACT of 17
- Continuing Eligibility: maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Apply: automatic, based on a weighted index of your ACT, SAT, or CLT scores and unweighted high school GPA in your OC application

Awarded in the spring of a high school student’s senior year as determined by the National Merit Corporation. You may receive this award for up to 8 semesters.

- Amount: Up to 17 credit hours per semester of full tuition, mandatory fees, cost of room and meal plan.
- Requirements: select OC as your first-choice university to the National Merit Corporation, maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA as an OC student

National Scholarships and Fellowships

You!

Current students seeking an institutional nomination for a national scholarship or fellowship should mark their calendars and begin planning now for OC’s National Scholarships & Fellowships Committee deadline in September. You will receive an email with application details when the time comes!

Each application is limited to current OC students and includes a curriculum vitae, a 500-word personal statement and a cover letter indicating why you should be OC’s nominee. The committee includes the Honors Director, Faculty Liaison and the Senior Vice-President for Academic Affairs.

Faculty advisors will work with you to apply for scholarships such as the J.W. Fulbright Scholarship, Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, Udall Scholarship, Rhodes Scholarship, etc.

Performance Scholarship Awards

Whatever your talent, OC is ready to be your stage.

OC offers athletic scholarships for a wide variety of competitive collegiate sports as a member of NCAA Division II and club sports. Additional institutional scholarships may not be eligible to be stacked with athletic scholarships (this does not include traditional academic and transfer scholarships).

- Amount: varies depending on ability and needs
- Requirements: freshman 1.7 cumulative GPA, other undergraduate student athletes 2.0 cumulative GPA, enroll in 12+ credit hours per semester. Graduate students 3.0 cumulative GPA, enroll in 9+ credit hours per semester

For first-time students who demonstrate exceptional musical ability and accomplishment. It is renewable for up to 8 semesters.

- Amount: varies depending on ability and needs
- Requirements: maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA, participate in music
- Apply: complete the OC application for admission and contact the Department of Music at 405.425.5530 for audition requirements

More Scholarships

Ike's Promise is a full tuition scholarship designed to make a private, Christian education possible for low-income families.

If you are not a U.S. citizen and ineligible for federal aid or one of OC’s academic scholarships, you likely qualify for OC’s International Scholarship. Enroll full-time in a traditional program at OC.

- Amount: $8,000 per academic year up to 8 semesters
- Requirements: maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA, cannot be combined with other scholarships
- Apply: complete admission application

Our university-funded OC grant was created to help you afford a college education on our campus. Don’t let your family’s financial situation keep you from attending OC.

- Requirements: FAFSA (Based on Need), maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA, combinable with other awards

Awarded by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education to academically outstanding students, designed to help cover costs of tuition, room, board and fees for up to 8 semesters.

- Amount: $4,000 per academic year
- Requirements: total ACT sub-score 138+|SAT 1560+, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25
- Apply: automatic, based on a weighted index of your ACT/SAT scores and high school GPA in your OC application

Must be an Oklahoma High School graduate.

If you are an OC student who has been awarded an ROTC Academic Scholarship, you also quality for an ROTC Room and Board Discount from OC.

- Amount: varies according to amount of ROTC scholarship as percentage of tuition
- Requirements: verification of ROTC academic scholarship award

- Amount: $1,500 per year up to 4 years.

- Requirements: First-time OC students who have attained the highest rank in a Scouting Organization. (examples, Scouts BSA, Girl Scouts, Heritage Girls, Trail Life) The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and participate in and/or lead designated Student Life activities such as service events.

- Apply: Talk to your Financial Aid Counselor and provide a copy of your certificate showing proof of attaining highest rank.

Students transferring more than 15 credit hours from another higher education institution completed after your high school senior year should submit complete college transcripts to OC for consideration.

- Amount: determined by college cumulative GPA

Transfer On Campus Scholarships
- GPA 3.75-4.00: $8,000 per academic year
- GPA 3.50-3.74: $7,500 per academic year
- GPA 3.25-3.49: $7,000 per academic year
- GPA 3.00-3.24: $6,500 per academic year
- GPA 2.75-2.99: $5,000 per academic year
- GPA 2.50-2.74: $4,000 per academic year

Transfer Off Campus Scholarships

- GPA 3.75-4.00: $6,500 per academic year
- GPA 3.50-3.74: $6,000 per academic year
- GPA 3.25-3.49: $5,500 per academic year
- GPA 3.00-3.24: $5,000 per academic year
- GPA 2.75-2.99: $3,500 per academic year
- GPA 2.50-2.74: $2,500 per academic year

- Requirements: maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Apply: automatic, based on an official transcript cumulative GPA from all colleges attended

Church Scholarships, Grants & Discounts

If you are an active member of the Church of Christ you may be eligible for the Heritage Scholarship, reach out to your admission counselor or email admissions@oc.edu today to inquire.

If you are the child of a full-time church of Christ minister, you may qualify for a tuition discount.

- Requirements: submission of Child Of Minister form by your home congregation and you are age 23 or under. Must live on campus.

- Apply: complete the OC admission application

OC will match a scholarship you receive from your church family.

- Amount: up to $1000 per academic year
- Deadline: August 1
- Apply: submit a completed application

If you are a resident of the Pacific Northwest and are considering attending OC, the Northwest Endowment Fund scholarship was created just for you. Learn more here.

- Requirements: FAFSA, resident of the Pacific Northwest
- Deadline: February 15
- Apply: submit Northwest Endowment Scholarship application

If your home congregation is the Cordova Church of Christ or you are from the Sacramento, Calif. area, you are eligible to apply for this scholarship named in honor of this inspiring young man who died of leukemia at the age of 20. Learn more here.

- Requirement: 500-word essay on career goals, update report to the scholarship committee immediately following completion of the recipient’s first year at OC, attendance at a fall scholarship luncheon at OC
- Apply: complete the Patrick Astafan Memorial Scholarship form

OC's Sister School Discount guarantees 50% off tuition including all OC aid if your parents work full-time at a sister university listed below.

Requirements: FAFSA, maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA and age 23 and under. Must live on campus.

Apply: Complete the OC admission application and submit the Sister School Discount Form by August 1st
