Payment Options

Financial Aid Counselor with studentsMany families choose a combination of all the options below to pay for costs that scholarships, grants and student loans to not cover. For example, parents may make a down payment and cover the remainder of the balance through a PLUS loan and the Tuition Payment Plan.

Cash at Enrollment
Parents may pay all or a portion of the remaining balance with cash. This option eliminates all processing fees and finance charges. Students should be prepared to make payment for tuition, fees and room/board on the day of registration each semester. Checks should be made payable to Oklahoma Christian.

Credit Card

Many parents pay all or a portion of their student's charges with a credit card in order to take advantage of the reward programs offered through their credit card companies. If you would like to do this, contact your Personal Financial Counselor in the financial services office. The university also accepts four major credit cards: American Express, Discover Card, Master Card and Visa.

Tuition Payment Plan through Educational Data Systems, Inc. (EDSI)
This monthly pre-payment plan is available through EDSI. EDSI charges an annual enrollment fee of $50, but the university does not add a service charge on the student's account as long as the contract payments are made each month. Yearly costs may be paid in 8, 9, or 10 months depending on how early you enroll. You may contact your Oklahoma Christian personal financial counselor at 800-877-5010 (ext. 5190) for more information.

Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)
A loan available to the parents of a dependent student. The PLUS loan has a variable interest rate of 8.5%. Repayment begins 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed and the minimum payment is $50 per month. You have up to 10 years to repay. This loan is based on credit worthiness. The student must complete the FAFSA. Click here for more information.

Alternative Student Loans
There are various non-federal student loans available through private lenders. Most freshmen and students with no credit history require a co-signer. Click here for more information.

Summer Work

Students who work just 20 hours per week during the summer should be able to earn enough pay for their books or apply some money toward their account.
