Dudley Chancey, Ph.D.,is Professor of Youth & Family Ministry at Oklahoma Christian University, and is the co-director of the new Intergenerational Faith Center. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Chancey is interested in researching adolescent spiritual formation, parenting adolescents, and adolescent culture. His current research involves assessments and interviews with three-generational families regarding faith and values transmission and reciprocity. Dr. Chancey is involved in several professional organizations including the National Council on Family Relations, Oklahoma Council on Family Relationsh, Groves Conference on Marriage and Family, Youth Ministry Educators, and the National Conference on Youth Ministries. He is very involved in student life on campus, being the founding sponser of the women's service club Pi Zeta Phi. Dr. Chancey makes a difference in the world; not only does he love to teach, but he is dedicated to not only Honduras family mission trips and the new Latin American Studies abroad program at OC, in placing students in countries where they can make a difference in the world (including North America). In Honduras he and colleagues established a residential center for at-risk children to provide education, life training, and opportunities for advancement. He has also been instrumental in the establishment and on-going progress of Jovenes en Camino outside the city of Tegucigalpa, taking care of 60 young boys daily. He is married to Vicki, and they have two boys, Drew and Matt.
