My name is Natalie Grounds and I've been married to my husband, Nic, for 13 years. We have two children. Addison is 8 and Ryder is 5. We've attended Memorial Road church of Christ for 10 years and have lived in Edmond for 5 years. I graduated from The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma with a degree in Physical Education. Natalie is also working on her Personal Training certification.
Courtney teaches Yoga on Thursdays at 2pm in the PAC 203. During the semesters only.
Courtney graduated from OC in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduation she worked as a Registered Nurse in the OKC metro until going to graduate school, where she received a Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2013. She has been back on campus teaching in the School of Nursing since 2014. As a health care professional, Courtney has always been passionate about fitness and has been practicing yoga for four years. She began her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2015 and is on track to complete it early next year. Courtney loves the idea of yoga being a true mind, body and soul exercise and incorporates devotional time into her weekly classes.
Arianne teaches Body & Soul year round:
Body and Soul: Strength and Flexibility on Mondays in the PAC Rec Gym.
Body and Soul: Cardio on Wednesdays at 12pm in the PAC Rec Gym.
Body and Soul: CSFIT on Fridays at 12pm in the PAC Rec Gym.
Arianne started as a student of Body and Soul Fitness in a class held at her church. As she realized its impact, both physically and spiritually, she embarked on the instructor training and became an A.C.E certified group fitness instructor. She has now been teaching for Body and Soul Fitness for almost 2 years. Body and Soul Fitness is a ministry that uses contemporary christian music to encourage people on their spiritual and fitness journeys. We currently offer 2 disciplines, Cardio and Strength & Flexibility. Cardio will get your heart pumping and approximately 6000 steps! Strength and Flexibility will improved your over all body strength using hand held weights and Pilates to improve general flexibility.
During the semesters Kendra teaches Boot Camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12pm in the PAC Rec Gym.
Kendra's passion is helping to better people's fitness through group exercise classes and 1-on-1 training. In her free time, Kendra enjoys long distance running, training her puppy Kodi, and doing any outdoor activity with her husband, Alex. Come to her Bootcamp classes and get your sweat on!
During the semester Lindsey teaches HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) on Thursdays at 7pm in the Barn.
She is currently working in pharmaceutical sales for Taro. She has a third degree black belt in American Freestyle and has three world titles in kickboxing. She has an MBA and a BA from UCO.
HIIT: High Intensity Interval Training this class blasts calories and fat up to 24 hours after the workout. This class also boosts your metabolism and builds lean muscle while burning fat. The workouts will change each time you come to class. Overall it's a great way to get in shape and most of all it's fun!!
Brandon teaches Power Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm in the Barn and on Wednesday mornings at 7am in the PAC Hallway.
Brandon has been teaching Team OC Power Yoga for ten semesters, and for two years before that at Gold's Gym and the Summit Gym. In his spare time, he practices architecture, fixes up old houses, and fathers 3 small kids.
Stretch & Soothe on Thursdays at 8pm in the Barn.
Stretch and Soothe is focused on releasing tension in the body by targeting key areas where we hold stress. By first warming up the muscles, then stretching and strengthening them, we push soreness and aches out and allow a more relaxed, stress-free feeling to take over the body.
Stroller Strong, is currently on break.
This class is for all parents/guardians who want a fun workout where they can interact with other parents/guardians and not have to find babysitting. All kiddos welcome but children 4 and under must be in a stroller for safety. Class will meet at the trailhead by the soccer fields. If inclement weather occurs, class can be moved indoors.
Carlee is a certified personal trainer and has been actively working to better people's fitness through group exercise classes and 1-on-1 training for about 3 years. A recent mom to two beautiful little girls, Carlee enjoys spending her days being Ellis and Avery's mom, cooking, and helping others see the wonderful benefits that come with living an active, fit life.
Sherry teaches Self-Defense on Mondays at 6pm in the Barn.
Sherry served as a Behavioral Science Specialist in the Army and Missouri Army National Guard for 10 years and has a B.A. in both Psychology and Anthropology. She uses these skills in wilderness therapy, camp ministry, team building, program networking, assessment of company cultures and works with programs to help troubled teens and women coming from trauma and abuse. Sherry is currently an amateur boxer and stays active in MMA training with leading instructors and fighters. She knows first hand what can work in dangerous situations and loves leading others through transition.
