"Throw Me A Rope!"

Parent Orientation Sessions
The primary goal of the Parent Association is to improve communication
between parents and the University. To achieve that goal, we started the "Throw Me A Rope!" parent orientation for parents of incoming students.
Since we began offering these sessions each summer, 17 years ago, attendance numbers have grown consistently.
Some of the attendees'
comments:
"This was very helpful even though we have been in contact with OC for some time. It helped to fill in information gaps and made several phone calls unnecessary." - Don DeLano, Goddard, KS
"Excellent program; highly recommend to all new parents (especially 1st time parents). - Danny Mason, Tahlequah, OK
"Excellent - I think it's a "can't miss" opportunity for parents of freshmen students!" - Todd Wright, Edmond, OK
"We live about 1300 miles away and have been very concerned the past few days about leaving our daughter. After today's program and meeting the staff and some faculty, we are much more comfortable."
- Paul and Cecilia Shampay, Temecula, CA
"This program gave us a lot of info we needed/wanted and meeting 'real people' made us feel more comfortable than merely reading it." - Nancy Mullen, Fall River, MA
"Very informative - relieved any anxieties I had. I feel great about having my child here especially being 22 hours away from home!" - Jule Ussin, Billings, MT
