The Roaring Lambs Fellowship is a scholarship opportunity available to one student each year who has completed a summer internship at a national publishing or editing company. The fellowship was established by the McBride Center for Faith and Learning as a resource for students who are actively seeking to further their job opportunities through internships.
As internships help jump-start students' post-graduation professional careers, The Roaring Lambs Fellowship aims to encourage participation in internships, especially in the fields of publishing and editing. The hope of having Christian alumni make an impact in the professional world--to be "Roaring Lambs"--is at the heart of the fellowship.
Students selected as Fellows will be awarded a cash scholarship and be asked to share their experiences as an intern and encourage other students to seek out similar opportunities.
Bailey Thomas was encouraged to apply for an internship through the Roaring Lambs Fellow program. In the summer of 2009, she completed an internship with DailyLit, based in New York City. You can read about her experience here.
Jill Ramsey was selected as the 2007-2008 Roaring Lambs Fellow after completing her internship at Real Simple magazine in New York City during the 2006 fall semester. Click here for complete coverage of her experience.
The Roaring Lambs Fellowship recipient is announced each year as part of the McBride Lecture during the first week of October. Applications may be downloaded here and are due Sept. 1. Questions may be directed to Frances Sawyer at 425-5330 or Dr. Scott LaMascus at firstname.lastname@example.org.
