Wet field results in postponement of OC-Texas A&M International game
OKLAHOMA CITY (April 11, 2013) – The Oklahoma Christian-Texas A&M International baseball game, scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Dobson Field, has been postponed because of field conditions, OC coach Lonny Cobble said.
According to the Oklahoma Mesonet, about 1½ inches of rain fell in north Oklahoma City from late Tuesday into Wednesday afternoon. Cobble and his TAMIU counterpart examined the field and decided about 11 a.m. Thursday that it wasn’t playable.
The game has been rescheduled for next Wednesday at 1 p.m. and will be played at the Schreiner University field in Kerrville, Texas. It will be the final game of an OC road trip that also will include stops at McMurry (Texas) on Monday and Texas-Permian Basin on Tuesday.
OC had also planned to honor retiring former athletic director, baseball coach and women’s basketball coach Max Dobson before Thursday’s game, having designated it as “Dobson Day.” Those ceremonies now have been scheduled before OC’s home game against Newman on May 2.
