WHITEHOUSE, Texas (May 21, 2014) – Spencer Shaw, who led Whitehouse High School to a Texas Class 4A regional quarterfinal this past season, has signed a letter of intent to play college basketball at Oklahoma Christian, OC coach Dan Hays said Wednesday.

The 6-foot-4 Shaw led the Wildcats to a 27-6 record and a district championship as a senior. He received all-district first-team honors and was a third-team selection on the Tyler Morning Telegraph’s All-East Texas honor squad after averaging 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 48 percent from the field, 38 percent from 3-point range and 73 percent from the free-throw line.

Shaw also earned all-district first-team honors following his junior season, during which he averaged 9.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

“We are very pleased to add Spencer to our program,” Hays said. “He is an outstanding student-athlete from east Texas. Spencer had a very good career at Whitehouse High School and is a very sound and fundamental player. He will be a great fit for our team and university.”
