OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 24, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian’s track and field teams will participate in at least six, and perhaps seven, meets during the 2014 indoor season, the university announced Sunday.
The teams, under the direction of longtime coach Randy Heath, might get a jump on the track season on Dec. 7 in Shawnee at the Oklahoma Baptist Early Qualifier meet, which will be held weather-permitting.
If the OBU meet isn’t held, the Lady Eagles and Eagles will open their indoor season on Jan. 10-11 at the Missouri Southern Indoor Invitational in Joplin, Mo.
OC’s teams will compete in the Texas Tech Open in Lubbock, Texas, on Jan. 17-18, before returning to southwest Missouri for the Missouri Southern Lion Invite on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
The following two Saturdays, OC’s teams will compete at the University of Oklahoma’s indoor facility in Norman. The Feb. 8 meet will be hosted by Central Oklahoma, while the Feb. 15 meet will be hosted by Oklahoma Baptist.
OC will wrap up the indoor season Feb. 21-22 at the National Christian College Athletic Association Indoor Championships, hosted by Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) in Kankakee, Ill. The Eagles finished fourth at the 2013 NCCAA indoor meet.
