WACO, Texas (Nov. 7, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian senior Addie Ryan and junior Estefania Bermudez Delgado received third-team honors on the All-Heartland Conference women’s soccer honor lists, which were announced Thursday.

Ryan, from Edmond, was listed as a midfielder but also played defender much of the season for the Lady Eagles and finished second on the team in scoring with eight points (two goals and a team-high four assists). She tied for 10th in the conference in assists.

Ryan was OC’s primary free-kick specialist and excelled at pushing up from her defensive position into the attack, so much so that she led the Lady Eagles in shots (52) and shots on goal (23).

Bermudez Delgado, from Madero, Mexico, transferred with her sister, Areli, to OC from Monmouth before the season and immediately became a force in the Lady Eagles’ midfield, with opposing coaches designing their game plans to try and limit her effectiveness.

She led the Lady Eagles in goals (six) and points (15) and was second in assists (3).

“I’m very proud of, and excited for, both Stef and Addie,” OC coach Randall Robison said. “I’m happy to see them gain some recognition for the tremendous season they had for us.

“Stef’s technical ability was present in every game we played. Most of our attack went through her. Addie has meant so much to this program over the last few years and her effort, her work ethic and her commitment to the OC women’s soccer program is second to none.”

Ryan and Bermudez Delgado are OC’s first all-conference selections since Marieke Bauer earned second-team All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors following the 2011 season.

OC went 4-12-2 overall this season and finished seventh in the conference standings with a 2-6-1 league mark.
