CONWAY, Ark. (April 22, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian will be the No. 3 seed in a six-team field for the National Christian College Athletic Association Central Region softball tournament, it was announced Monday.
The single-elimination regional tournament will be held Saturday at City of Colleges Park and will be hosted by Central Baptist (Ark.), which received the top seed. Central Baptist had the highest Burbridge rating, which is used by the NCCAA to determine seedings for postseason tournaments.
OC (20-21) will play Hillsdale Baptist (5-27) at 10 a.m. Saturday in a quarterfinal game. A win would propel the Lady Eagles into a 2 p.m. semifinal game against second-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan (30-13), which will receive a first-round bye.
In the other half of the bracket, Ecclesia (Ark.) (1-14) and Crowley’s Ridge (Ark.) (7-7) will play in the quarterfinals, with the winner to play Central Baptist (30-10) in the semifinals. The title game will be at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The winner will advance to the NCCAA Championship, set for May 9-11 at the Botetourt Sports Complex in Troutville, Va.
