Oklahoma City Bank Executive to Address OC Graduates

BancFirst Corporation Executive Vice President and Oklahoma Christian University alumnus David M. Seat will deliver the commencement address at the summer graduation ceremony for the university. Graduation will take place Saturday, Aug. 14 at at 10:30 a.m. in the dining area on campus.

Seat is a 1973 graduate and holds a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in accounting. In 1993 he graduated with academic distinction from Southern Methodist University’s Southwest Graduate School of Banking. Since 2003, Seat has served as executive vice president and regional executive of the BancFirst Corporation. He is responsible for directing seven banks and branches in southwest Oklahoma with assets of approximately $900 million.

David has also been very active in the local community. He is a member of the Rotary Club No. 29 in Oklahoma City, the Quail Creek Country Club and the Petroleum Club of Oklahoma City, for which he has also served on the board. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Oklahoma Christian University.

Seat is a graduate of the fifth Leadership Edmond class, the sixteenth Leadership Oklahoma City class and the nineteenth Leadership Oklahoma class, for which he currently serves on the finance committee. He is also a graduate of the Oklahoma Community Institute. In addition, Seat has formerly been president of the YMCA of Edmond, treasurer of the Arts Council of OKC and on the board of directors for the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce.

Commencement will include bachelor degree candidates from OC’s three colleges - arts and sciences, biblical studies and professional studies. Also included in the graduation exercises will be degree candidates from OC’s Fast Track MBA program, along with the Master of Science in Engineering program.

This year’s graduation marks the 10-year anniversary of OC’s MBA program. In that time, almost 1,000 students have graduated, with many of those working in the OKC area today.
