OKLAHOMA CITY (May 22, 2014) – Oklahoma Christian will host a pair of boys camps as part of the OC Soccer School during the coming weeks, OC men’s coach David Scott said Thursday.
On May 31, OC will host its College Prep ID Camp, which is designed for teaching and evaluating players who are interested in playing at the collegiate level. Players will participate in a college-style fitness session as well as technical and tactical training sessions. They will have the chance to compete in small- and full-sided games to help evaluate their skill level in comparison to other campers.
The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. that day and will cost $75.
OC will host a Summer Day Camp for boys ages 5-12 from June 2-5, also at a cost of $75. There will be morning and afternoon sessions.
The Summer Day Camp is designed to help boys learn and develop the basic techniques and skills of soccer, such as dribbling, ball control, heading, passing and shooting, by teaching in a progressive manner, from simple to complex. Campers will be able to participate in small-sided play, which will allow them to develop creativity and problem-solving skills.
The camp will be split into two categories, for ages 5-7 and ages 8-12.
