OC recruits shine in all-star basketball games
SHAWNEE, Okla. (June 9, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian’s three in-state men’s basketball signees all shined during all-star games played at Oklahoma Baptist University’s Noble Complex on Saturday.
In the annual Faith 7 Bowl, which pits all-star squads from Oklahoma and Texas, John Moon of Crescent scored 16 points – the second-highest total on the team – as Oklahoma posted a 101-95 win. The 6-foot-11 Moon had five dunks and played solid interior defense against a Texas team that featured several NCAA Division I signees.
Zach Norris of Coweta and Deric Shelton of Plainview also turned in solid performances in Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association all-star games, which precede the Faith 7 contest.
In the Class 4A-5A-6A game, Norris scored eight points for the Red team, which won 80-68 over the Grey team. In the 2A-3A game, Shelton was second on the 3A team with 13 points, but the 2A team won the game 86-75.
